The Conservation Movement - Part 2

The Conservation Movement - Part 2There is a lot of information and resources available on the Internet concerning the conservation movement. As this has become one of the most controversial issues facing our country, the Internet is flooded with many different forms of information on the subject. One of the better Internet resources dealing with the topic is Conservation News. Although this seems to be a one-way discussion between conservationists and those who oppose their views, the tone is more of a consensus which can be used to help further the conservation agenda in today's world. With this viewpoint, this resource can be a valuable tool for understanding the issues surrounding the conservation movement, as well as having a better understanding of how to write about conservation with both effective and more resourceful writing. One thing that I have found helpful about this resource is that it is very easy to navigate and quickly looks up words that I might not be familiar with .Many are not aware of how big the conservation movement is in America. It may be surprising how large it is, as the amount of support is staggering. It is often said that nearly one-third of the entire landmass of America is covered by protected areas. There are literally millions of acres of wilderness that are open to the public. There are several causes for the conservation movement to be so large, yet so varied. One of the major reasons is the large number of individuals who are not willing to live in close proximity to wildlife. In recent years, we have seen a shift in this attitude towards this issue, as many citizens are realizing that being cohabiting with wild animals is necessary to maintaining the healthy balance of the ecosystem. These same citizens understand that they must act in order to protect the environment.A second reason for the popularity of the conservation movement is the effect it has had on the quality of life of the urban populations of America. Americans are becoming more aware of the effects that habitat loss, invasive species, and pollution are having on their ecosystem. The nature of urban life makes some individuals more willing to act in an eco-responsible manner, while others are less willing to act at all.Another benefit of this resource is the ability to better understand and appreciate conservation issues and how they relate to other subjects. I've always enjoyed reading many of the discussions that are offered in the resource, as well as many of the essays. A great example of this is the essay 'Tough Love', which describes the difficult process of education a child needs to do to be fully eco-aware. This essay can be useful in terms of better understanding what is required in order to preserve our environment. If you are looking for a great source of information on the subject of conservation, I would highly recommend this resource online. It is convenient, has been around for a long time, and can really help to better unde rstand the issues associated with the conservation movement. These last few paragraphs are my opinion, but I do not believe that writing articles for websites and articles for magazines is the best way to teach children about wildlife conservation. There is too much confusion out there in the media, and I feel that keeping a child on the farm and going into the woods is the best method for teaching wildlife.
